San Francisco police officers wrongly give victim to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
A 31-year-old man was a car-theft victim. He notified police of the theft in November 2015. Later he was arrested and released to ICE. Two months later this man is release from ICE.
The victim’s “attorney and San Francisco Supervisor John Avalos said the police cooperation with immigration authorities violated the city’s sanctuary-city ordinance that bars any use of money or resources to “assist in the enforcement of federal immigration law” — an ordinance designed in part to make potential crime victims and witnesses feel comfortable working with authorities regardless of their immigration status.”
The above case is similar to a harmed victim who called an emergency call center more than once. The harmed victim is the one who was arrested and is now an injured party of the court system, poverty, and social injustice. A call is ringing for you to help this injured person.
