Family Law: Litigation Funding

This mom’s litigation is about her fight to relocate and raise her 3 years old daughter in Finland. She strongly believes that they both will benefit from a much better quality of life: there is a high-quality education system and also their financial situation will substantially improve. At present, Mia and her mother both live in the United-States but need to raise enough money to insure their move.

As a victim of domestic violence, this mom does not want to expose her child under any more abuse and desperately needs to get away from her ex-husband and his family. Indeed, she not only experienced domestic violence but also hostility from her in-laws. Her divorce was finalized last year. However, she had filed a restraining order against her ex-spouse 2 years ago. And when violating the restraining order, he was arrested and their daughter’s sleepovers at his place were put to an end. He was accused of exposing 3 years-old Mia to marijuana. Besides, he has a history of not paying child support in a consistent manner, very little or not at all. According to the plaintiff, he owes over $2000 in child support.

Mia’s mother is now remarried and can provide a stable environment for her daughter in Finland. In spite of all the evidence that the father is manipulative, vendictive and not a reliable figure, the court is against them moving to another country and play on the idea that he deserves a “second chance”.

According to her mom, the child is experiencing anxiety after spending long periods of time at her father’s. Consequently, Mia is seeing a therapist. Mia reported to her mother that her father was verbally abusing when talking about her.

This litigant is more than willing to answer any of your questions and also needs moral and financial support. She definitely has a strong case and needs funds to continue this legal dispute.

This litigant is offering awesome rewards to generous donators!

“For those who are able to help substantially we are offering lodging and a guide (my husband!) in Lappish Finland for stays of up to 2 weeks (or longer, just contact me). If you have wanted to experience ice fishing, reindeer, huskie farms, camping in the Finnish wilderness, we are offering this as part of an incentive for your help. We have friends there who have offered to help in this way and we’ll be there too!”
