Donate: Small Woman/Minority Owned Business vs. Big Government

Headline: Small Woman/Minority Owned Business vs. Big Government

My name is Tonia Miller CEO/Owners of Veer Right Management Group, Inc.(VRMG) located in Wilson NC. VRMG is a woman/minority owned small business. VRMG is a multi-faceted company with our roots embedded in our core competency, Event Marketing, Planning and Management Services.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) was our client for 8 years, 2005-2013. We helped to implement and manage their entire Event Marketing Trade Show Program. In 2013 we began work on their 2014 program (typically we plan 6-8 months in advance). Due to Tortious Interference (another lawsuit we are engaged in as the plaintiff in which we are fighting a “Big Corporation”) the contract was not renewed and bid out. We had client authorization and continued to work on the 2014 program not knowing if we would win the contract back.

September of 2013 we were informed that our subcontractor was awarded the contract and within days our Vice President had a job with them. (reference our other lawsuit listed above).

On October 7th we submitted our final invoices to the USPS for work on the 2014 program. They began to process the payments but then abruptly ceased and claimed that the work was done in 2013 and that they did not have to pay us for the 2014 program. Some of the invoices included payments made by VRMG (out-of-pocket) in which we would bill at the conclusion of an event. They refused to pay those as well.

The total amount of all invoices came to around $207,000. We had to secure a lawyer in which we have now spent more than $30,000. To date USPS admitted to owing us approximately $26,000 out of the $207,000. We went to mediation without any results. We now have to go to litigation which will cost VRMG more money and time out of the office.

The USPS is a big government entity with apparently plenty of money to fight our small business for worked performed. They are literally putting us out of business. I keep fighting out of principal because what has been done to VRMG could happen to any small business struggling to make a living.

I’m asking for donations to keep my fight going until the bitter end. Yes we are struggling but I have determination to see this to the end. Any help you can afford will be directly going to fight the USPS.

Please let me know if require more details and I thank you in-advance for your consideration to help.
