Is It True That I Pay Nothing When I Pledge To Support A Litigation Crowdfunding Campaign And Can Cancel My Pledge Later?

Is It True That I Pay Nothing When I Pledge To Support A Litigation Crowdfunding Campaign And Can Cancel My Pledge Later?

Yes, it is true that you pay nothing at all when you pledge money to a litigation crowdfunding campaign, unless and until 100% of the funding that is required is raised by the date at which the litigation crowdfunding campaign ends, and you can cancel your pledge at any time until all of the funds have been raised.

When you pre-authorize a pledge you do this via Paypal. You will end up at a Paypal screen indicating that you are making a one-time preapproved payment, which expires in one year. One year is also the maximum length of a litigation crowdfunding campaign. Nothing at all is taken from your Paypal account, or the credit card or bank account it is attached to, unless 100% of the funds that are required for a case are raised. You will find a screen that looks like this:

After pledging, you can still track the money that you have pledged to a particular campaign by clicking on “your campaigns & contributions”, and your pre-approved payment will automatically be cancelled if 100% of the funds that are required are not raised. Your tracking screen on Invest4Justice will look like this:

When you click on the sum that you have pre-approved, you will also be able to see the details of the pledge you have made, including the financial reward that has been offered in return:

Finally, if you change your mind, you can cancel your pledge at any time by going to your Paypal account, clicking on “My Money,” clicking on “Update,” clicking on “My Preapproved Payments,” and then cancelling the one that you no longer would like to give:

All you have to do is to click “Cancel,” and you will never pay anything, although you will no longer be entitled to your reward:

Cancellations do not cost anything, so go ahead and try it out – you will see that Invest4Justice is entirely transparent and does not cost anything at all, unless 100% of the amount required is really pledged. If you do not cancel and 100% of the funds are raised, you will automatically receive a receipt proving the amounts that you have paid and entitling you to your share of the contingency fee that has been offered.

You have nothing to lose, and you can always change your mind if you decide against contributing later, so what are you waiting for?
